Summer Slide Solution

Summer is officially over my beautiful readers. And as one client so eloquently put it last month, “I’m here to end my ‘summer slide.'” After a June to August absence that so many of us experience, she decided to refocus her energy on more healthful living. Can you relate? If so, I have some suggestions to help you back on the wagon as our cooler weather approaches.

  • Book it – schedule appointments for your work outs. Take a look at your calendar and locate the most convenient days and times, add it as an appointment and treat it as such. Let family members know if necessary. “Mom is at yoga for the next 6 weeks every Monday and Wednesday evening. Dad is in charge of dinner and bedtime.”
  • Breathe it – Enjoy this nicer weather as long as we have it. Opt for outdoor family and social get-togethers:

Visit Morton Arboretum for play or walks among the changing leaves

Take the little ones –Time Out Chicago’s list of best parks

  • Cook it – pull out those veggie dense stew recipes and get ready for fall/winter healthy eating. (few things more comforting than dinner via crock-pot) My chili recipe is a good start.
