Spring Break Brilliance

Spring Break is on it’s way. After years of hearing the successes and troubles of vacation healthy living, here are two suggestions.
  1. Have a plan. When will you get in your exercise? Are there options where you are staying? Does a local gym have a one week pass? Are there options with in your sight seeing? (If bike riding – always wear a helmet.) When will you have indulgent meals? How many? When will you eat your fruits and veggies? I argue that having a simple plan will make your vacation time more enjoyable. Ex: I’m going to walk for 30 minutes by the beach first thing every morning and eat plenty of fresh fruit and oatmeal for breakfasts.
  2. Share it. Tell your friends and family that you will be going for your walk (class, jog, gym time, etc.) at a certain time , certain days. This way there are no surprises and no negative pressures to skip the workout. Even in extended family vacations, clients consistently report that fellow travelers are very respectful of their plans.

Be safe! Have fun! And enjoy your much needed relaxation time!
